FabTime Cycle Time Management Newsletter Reaches 500 Semiconductor Industry Subscribers
Menlo Park, CA. August 21, 2001 – FabTime Inc. today
announced that its cycle time management newsletter
distribution list had climbed to 500 subscribers. The
newsletter is a monthly email publication containing
technical articles on wafer fab cycle time management as
well as industry news and recommendations. Recent topics
have included: the financial benefits of cycle time
reduction; overall equipment efficiency (OEE); and cycle
time improvement methods for use during a downturn. Other
issues have focused on the impacts of variability, theory
of constraints, just-in-time manufacturing, single-path
tools, batch size decisions, and lot size on cycle time.
The newsletter is focused on the needs of readers who
work in manufacturing. I look forward to getting
each issue of the FabTime cycle time management
newsletter, said Thomas Devine, wafer fab manager
for ABB Semiconductors AG. I have been using it to
demonstrate the effects various issues can have on line
performance. I found the issues on OEE and the cost of
cycle time to be especially timely.
I think that the FabTime cycle time management
newsletter provides a valuable service, said Brent
Bogue, manger for world-wide test at Amkor Technology
(NASDAQ: AMKR). I am always on the look out for
passing on the newsletter to people who are receptive to
improving manufacturing.
Currently approximately 140 companies and universities
are represented. The companies with the most subscribers
are Advanced Micro Devices (NYSE: AMD), Motorola
Corporation (NYSE: MOT), Infineon Technologies (NYSE: IFX),
Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC), SEMATECH and
